The surfcaster use to sell square tubes. Check out their site. If not, central vac tubing works and is lite.

surfland. pre cut. lightweight and durable. you just need to poke whole in the bottem. they are the exact diameter of the tubes that come in a van staal bag but slightly taller.

How about plastic downspouts. Cut to length and then two-part epoxy or rivet together.
