I thought I was the only one who noticed this behavior on the part of the press. How embarrassing must it be for a reporter to look back at himself bellyaching because the press isn't getting as much information from the military as they feel they were "promised". Saw one guy last night complaining because a special room had been set up for press briefings and so far it has been used very little. Boo-hoo, buddy. So what do they do instead? Declare every former military they can get their hands on a subject matter expert and take what little info they have and try to rip it apart like it was an NFL post game analysis, so they can come up with a miniscule shred of speculation about what the next move might be. Fortunately, retired generals don't seem to speculate, they seem to base their comments entirely on fact and experience and don't appear to be willing to say anything that might "tip a hand". I like that in a retired general.
