Well, they deserve whatever comes their way ... glad no one else was hurt.

There have been a number of tragic accidents up in the Merrimac River this season already. Some of them don't make any sense, claims that a boat attempted to jump a jetty, etc.

But the most tragic was a former Coast Guard representative who was out with his family and his boat got rammed by another vessel out of control, sending the gentleman over the side ... at that moment, he had taken his life vest off (or for some reason wasn't wearing it) ... and now his wife and kids are left fatherless ... no reason for that, none whatsoever ... I don't remember what happened to the individuals in the other boat that caused the accident, but they should pay ...

Very happy nobody got hurt. Money and the divorce courts can fix everything else! If someone is hurt or killed , that can't be undone.

The big problem is the speed that people drive after all their fear is washed away by the alchohol.

On the other hand I could tell you some real horror stories of the dumb stuff people have done while boating who had not had a single drink. I believe that there should be a license for boats above a certain length or horsepower , not needed for row boats and canoes or Kayaks and not for small motored boats like bass boats or tenders.
