OK, I didn't go way back but here's what I found looking real quick:

2001, 2002, 2003, 2005 all the reports are for SoCo. My log books show that good fish started to show around August 12 and it stayed consistently good until right after labor Day. Then is slacked off for about 7 to 10 days and started back up again.

2003 was a spectacular Fall in that Carpenters Bar to Deep Hole had a school of fish that showed up on Sept 1 and stayed for a month. Nothing over 22 #, nothing under 12 or 13#. My log states "absolute world class fishing." Catching 20 or 30, 20# bass an outing at Carpenters. It was never that good again.

No boat, back in the suds.

Would be interested in knowing what your logs show as to when spring-to-summer fishing slowed in July. Was it mid-July or thereabouts?

Been getting good numbers of sub legal fish up to 17-18# every night I've been out for the last two weeks. Don't think its fall related down here, but the N.Shore and points north are sitting on the launching pad. Some time around 8/20 or so the big schools of fish would exit Stellwagen and we'd kill them on the back side. Not sure if it still happens like that, but its around that time.

In 2001 the last decent fish, 15#, was 6/23 at Black Point. From the 24 to August 12 there were a lot short fish, 24 to 27". Spots fished were everywhere from narrow River PJ, Galilee Channel, Deep Hole Carpenters all the way to Watch Hill Light.

2002 Things died after July 8th but we started on the Back and in Orleans and we had good fish. (this was pre-seals). August 9th the Sheepspen in 'Gansett lit up. From then until Aug 26 we had fish and then it died again On Sep 1 Watch Hill lit up at 3:00 AM in a NE wind with a dropping tide. from then until the 23rd we had fish mostly at watch Hill and The Fire Beach. back on again on Oct 8-10 with a total of 14 fish over 20. from then on it was slow with a 31.1# on Oct 26, a 37# on Nov 2nd at Nap in real angry seas and 30MPH SE

No boat, back in the suds.

Feast or famine..... harbor was devoid of any bait, herring or pogies, last night and this morning. That was fast. Guess it's over.

Very slow on the numbers front last night. I only had one hit in four hours but released a nice fish just shy of 30#.

No signs of a pickup in the action yet...
