Hence, Bill Clinton and Al Gore are responsible for 9-11.

How many Afghan terrorists (Al Quaeda, Taliban) were trained and armed by the CIA during the '80's under Reagan's terms while we helped them against the USSR? I am reasonably sure that Bin Laden was part of that. How much support did we give Iraq in their war with Iran under Reagan's term?

Why didn't George Bush Sr. finish the job in '91 when we had the support of the world?

The Iraqi people are hesitant to help us because the last time around we left Saddam in power and those that helped us or celebrated payed the price when we left...

There is plenty of blame to go around if you want to play that game. We did alot of questionable things during the cold war under Democrats and under Republicans... ain't nobody clean. And alot of those policies (and current ones) are the root of the terrorist problem... why they hate us bad enough to kill us.

There perspective is alot different from ours. I heard an interview with a Palestinian leader on NPR this morning and I was yelling at my car radio b/c I thought he was so full of it, but they really think we are worse than Saddam and that we are like the Saddam of the entire world. Trying to rule everyone.

He said we've killed thousands of civilians so far and that all the journalists there are under the control of the military, so the American public doesn't see it.

He than said that all Muslims were peaceful and war isn't the answer... amazing statement considering the millenia of wars in that region.

He compared Israel to when Iraq invaded Kuwait and wondered why the US would allow Israel to occupy their lands.

Right or wrong, they believe these things. They think we are evil. Even when admitting that Iraq invading Kuwait was wrong, he twisted to make us sound worse. It was amazing.

Who's fault is all of it? Mostly its their own fault. But I would ask why we are so damn determined to support Israel and why we don't put more pressure on them to resolve some of these issues. And this isn't the current administrations fault, this goes way back. Bottom line is that they all hate Israel even more than they hate each other and they believe are support of Israel makes us a close second.

Sorry I want off on a tangent... not trying to pee in your cheerios... but I had to take exception to that. I'm not the biggest Clinton fan (he's a major sleeze, typical politician), but he did some good things and IMO was a decent President. Some things also slipped during his terms and nat'l security was one of them. Part of that was due to the new world without the USSR, part was too many defense budget slashes. But he was by no means responsible for the rise in terrorism. The 80's was the rise and their hatred for us developed well before Slick Willy came around.

PS... I do have to admit, that I have a hard time envisioning Al Gore and what he would have done after 9-11 and how he might be currently managing things with Iraq. I have a hard time seeing strong leadership from him and I'm glad George is in office vs. AG. I also like some of the people he has around him.

I also believe that he believes he is doing the right thing and that is his motivation.

Aren't things so crazy right now?...

One thing that I do know for sure is that I want to see things work out!!!

War is NEVER a popular subject.

Regardless of what any of us really think... or think we know for that matter...
