You said you prepacked your truck in your parking lot because of your party. I'd bet you $50 that the guy who stole your stuff sat there and watched you while you packed it up, and I'd go another $50 that you've seen him around, whether he's you're neighbor or one of their friends/boyfriends. Do you recall any shady characters, or even someone parked in the car beside you, or any one in general that happened to be hanging around that would have taken the opportunity to scope out what you were loading up? I've lived in Dorchester for 40 years and you might call me paranoid, but I know that I have many predators for neighbors, who watch everything that people do, waiting for people to slip up, even for 10 minutes so they can swoop in for a quick in and out. I'm sorry for your loss, I hope you get your stuff back, but I'd be thinking hard about who would have seen me pack up.

My guts are telling me the same thing DMenace said...
That genuinely blows - keep your eyes open and good luck with the recovery

Good thought but I dont think this the case. All kevins neighbors are lawyers/ doctors or wealthy college kids. But the place happens to be in the heart of Dowtown Prov. But there are shady charactors all over the place, who def could have watched him pack the car. Shady character who watched him-yes. Neighbor-no. But regardless, it sucks and you just dont replace all that gear in one insurance payment. Lot of misc stuff accumilated over time. Sorry again man. Blows.

It's more likely that they were taking the Jeep and it was just bad luck that the gear was in it. If they just wanted the gear, they would have broken in and taken it. I would think that auto theft carries a stiffer sentence than breaking into a car and stealing the contents. In any case, I hope they find the gear and the Jeep and it's all in good shape.

Conservatism is not about leaving people behind. Conservatism is about empowering people to catch up, to give them tools at their disposal that make it possible for them to access all the hope, all the promise, all the opportunity that America offers. - Marco Rubio

First off ... I appreciate everyones kind responses... as this entire situation completely sucks... at this point in time, with no word on finding the jeep... im basically giving up hope on it being recovered.
I haven't been able to sleep at night thinking some D-Bag has either sold my gear or thrown it out. Makes me ill. Like bassballer said, I live in a very populated area of downtown and it def wasn't a neighbor... and in agreement with Fishbones, they def wanted the jeep more than the stuff... there was no broken glass, and it all happened within 40 minutes. PLUS, EVERYTHING in my jeep was in the tailgate, underneath the curtain thingy, so nothing was exposed to the eye if they were peering in.
I soon will have some photos of the rod... its def a rod that can't go unoticed, with the bright Chartruese and White thread I chose to wrap it with.
At this point, I guess I'm just thankful I wasn't injured blah blah ( my mom keeps telling me that) ... but honestly, I feel like I was raped with no control over it.
I just appreciate knowing there are others who truly feel the pain as most who don't fish just say that "everything can be replaced... they are just THINGS"... if they only knew!!!
again thanks for the support guys... see you all at the HABS tourney, fishing or not.
-Kevin Costello
