Being my 1st year of striper fishing my main goals were to take my dad and boys fishing and to learn as much as possible. So far all accomplished. To me enjoying all the aspects of being out fishing is what is enjoyable like the stars at night when it's pitch black and there's no ambient light around and the sky is filled with stars and shooting stars. Or the calm warm breeze on a moonlit night with no one else around and you can hear everything the water is telling you. Or being with family or friends.

I've been fortunate to meet a group of guys who are dedicated fishermen who have taken me under their wing and guided me along. I will be eternally grateful for that.

And every stranger I've struck up a conversation with while fishing whether it be day or night has been great. It seems there is a brotherhood among us when you're both holding a fishing rod.

And catching my personal best at about 5 am this past Saturday was a thrill. I knew it was big with my rod doubled over most of the fight. 39" and fat. Best part was I was able to release her successfully.
