Things are not at all slow at the canal . Infact just the opposit.
The canal is hoppin with 20-30 Lb fish the stripers are mostly hitting on a west tide and they are throwing all types of lures > The most popular are a Olive backed Gaggs Mambo Minnow 7" and the Gibbs Silver side black back Polaris Popper (pogie) all sizes, Buck Tail Jigs and of corse herring either Fresh Dead or Live.
I saw a 47" taken at Old Bridge RD on live herring last week.
The fish are all thru the canal .but most guys will still fish west of the herring run.

Got to go will follow up on this later
