Classic Franks and Beans. I usually brown up some onions first add the beans and the cut up dogs. Simple, processed, delicious.

But for my favorite cold weather meals - polenta with a nice thick meat sauce and grated parm on top. We used to just spread it out on my grandmothers big wood cutting board in the center of the table and dig in. Another home style favorite is country spare ribs and savoy cabbage. I brown the ribs in olive oil, take them out cook a whole bunch of Garlic and some red pepper flakes in the oil then add a chopped up washed head of savoy cabbage. Put the ribs back maybe add a little water and let it go. Makes a kind of soup broth and wilted cabbage with delicious pork. Eat with some crusty buttered bread. Sounds simple but mmmm

Problem with this thread is I just came in and it feels like a late summer night. weird weather....
