Is there a limit on the number of members for a group? Is an internet site a "club"?

From JohnR in another thread:

Chris - no real limit on size. My impression I got talking to some OTW folks was that we were midsized in number of participants with one club having twice as many entered as S-B.

Why are you such a s-b striper cup team hater? Maybe I'm wrong but in another thread you were saying why bother participate, isn't just fishing enough or something like that? Now your questioning team size and whether we should qualify as a club? If you're not interested in particapating why do you care how many people are on our team or whether or not we are a club? Just seems like your trying to bring a ton of negativity to something that you don't participate in or supposedly care about.

Luds,

Don't hate the sb team just not a fan of the way the striper cup is structured and run.
I participated in it for a couple years and didn't like the way was set up, eventually stopped. I have a ton of specific reasons why but instead of airing them all here and depressing everyone and starting a flame war, I will ignore this thread and let you guys enjoy the event. (if you want me to get into it I will) It's just not for me, that's all.

You're too young to be this grumpy.....

This "club" is the same as most who participate in the Cup.My "club" is a bunch of friends and friends of friends. After RISAA there aren't many true clubs who enter, maybe Jersey shore.Linesider bass and brew won this thing with about 8 or 10 guys on their "club".I raised the same question years ago but let's face it;s-b.com is the best thing OTW could hope for thus far to promote the tournament. Not to mention they are mostly shore guys which OTW loves. They also don't have many comm's to keep things pure.

I,for one would like to hear your gripes with the format. It has a low impact for the most part. They have tweaked it so the shore division doesn't have too much of an advantage anymore. They have expanded the area of weigh stations. All good changes I think. With the fishing out at the Vineyard I'm shocked their teams have never put together a legitimate challenge. If OTW could ever dedicate enough staff to update standings more frequently instead of the intern running around with the proverbial head cut off this would really fly.
