First of all, Professor M is very well respected here on S-B. He is hardly "anyone".
Second, WTF do you care? If you aren't joining Team S-B, why even post in this thread?

Dad 818,
Awesome job keeping this list and major thanks for noting whom is boat, shore or both.
Couple questions:
1. If I were to take other members of the team out on my boat to go trophy hunting it would have to be another boat angler or a "both" person, yes?
2. Does anyone know how we keep a tally of fish that have been caught so I don't weigh in a 42# fish and then realize that it was all for nothing because our top ten were all bigger? I just don't want to kill any fish I don't have to. Early in the season do we weigh in high 30# ers?
Thanks.

Sea Flat, thanks for the compliment.
1-Yes, the people you bring out would have to register as either "Boat or Both"
2-I haven't done the cup before, but I believe that OTW keeps a standings sheet available on their web site.

hey Sea Flat,
the Boss, JohnR, usually has us keep nothing under 35# shore, 40# boat. that's at the beginning of the Cup. as the tournament progresses those numbers will increase.
as for the updating of the Leader Board, that is an area where i hope that OTW will improve. we usually have a sticky or some one who keeps a running account here, based on OTW's numbers. we will also use the "grapevine" to keep us from keeping big fish, unecessarily

Some people might want to weigh in a fish for a shot at a weekly prize, which used to be about $400 worth of tackle/gift cards.
Also, May and September are "short" months and a 30-ish fish might sneak in for the monthly, which puts you on the stage with a chance at the grand prize. Especially in September for the shore guy.
It's a matter of personal choice.
Just remember that you can only weigh in one fish a week, and the week runs Sunday to Saturday, if I remember correctly.

Intrepid, we are recruiting among members of S-B and a few friends of members of S-B. A lot of people that don't get to fish 8 days a week like some and the large majority - like myself - that may or may not break the magic number necessary to make the top 10. Hell, I only posted a fish once that lasted the final 10.We are mostly shore - which some consider a disadvantage - shore ratio or not. We have a few ringers (by far not me ) but we are also going against teams full with ringers and teams with far larger.
What is a "fair" amount of people for us to have? And why?

Yep, Dad is keeping a good list...
1) They would need to be in the tourney and registered both or both. A sure only could not weigh in a fish.
2) We'll manage a list and forum for access keeping the details up to date on what not to keep. MikeP is on the money with regards to weekly / monthly prizes and personal choice. I don't think I will weigh anything in that doesn't have a shot at the top 10 unless it is a fish I can't revive - but that is me.

does it cost more to register for both?
I'll enter this weekend. I'll be on the water 4 days a week anyway so I may stumble into something decent.

I totally agree. I am hoping that someday the weigh stations and OTW can get this done online to make it quicker and up to date on a daily basis, or at least close to it.
The starting off point sounds good, thanks for the info.

Agreed, only going to weigh in a fish unless it is going to help the team. Realistically, you would really only have a shot at a weekly prize in this case anyway except for the early weeks of the tourney where 20# fish have been known to take a weekly.
