The FSAs allow employees to set aside tax free dollars to use for medical expenses not covered by insurance.

The new provision caps spending at $2,500 per year. Previously you were reimbursed for purchases of over the counter drugs like aspirin and Tylenol. Now you'll need a prescription for every purchase, even those over the counter.

"Congress put some modest restrictions on some of these spending accounts with the goal of sort of preventing some of the abuses that were going on," said Rosman, "and sort of constraining it a little bit."

As for FSA restrictions, the goal is to curb unnecessary health care spending, thereby lowering costs for everyone.

so....let's see... if you are an employee with an FSA setting aside your tax free dollars to use for medical expenses not covered by your insurance and the new provision caps spending at $2,500 per year and previously you were reimbursed for purchases(from the money that you set aside yourself it appears) of over the counter drugs like aspirin and Tylenol now you'll need a prescription for every purchase, even those over the counter in order to reimburse yourself with your own money that you've set aside...

the FSA restrictions goal is to curb unnecessary health care spending, thereby lowering costs for everyone.

so by forcing you to get a perscription for things like asprin in order to reimburse yourself with the money that you've set aside for your own medical expenses above and beyone what your healthcare plan provides this will curb unnecessary health care spending, thereby lowering costs for everyone...???

makes sense to me....

wonder what else is in those 2000+ pages

I also liked the part about how they are hosing the very rich when they sell homes in order to pay for all of this...vampires searching for every drop of blood that they can find
