I fished in the indian river near the inlet before ( couple years ago ) in Oct no tarpon just some reds and jacks and a few trout . Nice place and a serious fishery . We saw all kinds of wildlife just like you did . One of my most memorable trips fishing ( good thing I took pictures ) . Glad you had fun and no way could you go near that area without wetting a line .
