Fished a breachway tonight. Surf was so high, the drift went out 20 yards and took a 90• bend down the beach. Strangest thing I have ever seen. Not a tap either.

...and that's because it's November. I was with some Conn folks yesterday that just came back from Cape May and they were hammering 40s and a couple of 50s on pogies from shore this past week.

No boat, back in the suds.

Went last night, checked out a few spots. Surf was 12 to 14 feet high and crashing so hard. We scoped out 3 spots then decided to fish the spot that was less big. Couldn't even feel what the plug was doing cause of the surf and the tide sweeping out. We left a 2am and it wasn't even close to being low tide which I thought was at 1 am. No bumps, nothing.

Beautiful night to fish though and was nice getting out after my fall two weeks ago.

Did still see some lone mullet in the shallows.

Hopefully getting out again real soon.

Be safe out there guys the undertow was crazy strong!

Fished last night in a protected spot w/ some bait around but couldn't raise a fish. Saw (more like heard) a guy not too, too far from me get a nice one, but while I could see some bait being crushed from underneath, I just couldn't get them to cooperate. Maybe tonight or later today...

Thats what it was like the last time I hit it.My plug would drift around the rock I was standing on past the 8ft breakers and on the beach behind me.I couldn't touch the bottom or even dig with any plug or metal I had in my bag.I had a good run for a while but that almost put the icing on the cake.

Not done yet....

She's layed down a lot. I just got back from the beach with the wife. There are still decent swells rollin in every now and again but it is very fishable. Just remember to sit and watch a few sets before you make an attempt to get to your perch.

Backwaters - up the river or salt pond area,

Definition - a body of water that was created by a flood or tide or by being held or forced back by a dam

Kind of sad Mike. 10 years ago my old partner Gil Guilletone, RJ, Bobby G and Scotty "The Pipe" Slocum would have been out all night and hit 6 ot 7 different spots. Half down Deep Hole and Carpenters. 3/4 and we would be at Quonny and then "The River" for the bottom and "The Bump". We use to go at it hard. November night with a clearing wind and a dropping tide!

Bryan did have plans to join me but had something come up just as he left his house.

No boat, back in the suds.
