yup. I threaded a 1/16 308 stainless thru wire. Original used brass and a larger size probably 2-56 if I had to guess. You will be going with an 0-80 thread and let me tell you it isn't easy. First you have to file down the outside dia. of the wire to about .056 as that is the major dia.that is needed to get the die on without breaking the wire. Leaving it .062 will not work. You have to thread it about 1/2 inch long. I also made the nuts too. You can buy them but they are really too small IMO. A lot of work but I enjoy that stuff. I found that you can do a pretty good tail wrap if you think about it and much easier for the mechanically non inclined. YOu can see my attempt at the threaded and the tail wrap in the pic above I posted.
