Trying updating the firmware, easily done from the linksys web site.

Given the diversity of the human species, there is no “normal” human genome sequence. We are all mutants.

I'm not sure what the problem is so it is hard to give advice. That is one poorly rated router, unlike the WRT54G which is probably the most common router ever.

Does it work over Ethernet and not wireless? Do other devices connect to it now?

You may need to manually assign settings. I would recommend you plug in your laptop via Ethernet, rerun the install CD, update to the latest firmware on the router, and run the configuration script to redo the whole router.

What kind of computers do you have at home? It may be easier to get another router.

Thanks for the info about the router. I had a hard time getting the signal with the single antenna before unless it was nearby and besides that I can't find the CD. I get a strong signal, but it does nothing else. The ThinkPad has a locator that finds all the wireless that is really nice. It works great with the ethernet. I have two more laptops (XP older ones - kids removed the keys) and one one tower computor that ran with the USB Linksys G.

I think I am going to get a newer router as I am not all that good with playing with the settings.

I have the WRT54G lying around the house unused, anyone interested? Worked great until upgraded.
