I had a pretty good day yesterday.

Went to the herring run and got some baits, put them in my quickly made cooler/live baitwell (thanks Chuck C).

Went out to Long Island for the derby, with my son.
The herring stayed alive just fine. Took them to the water and into the laundry basket I made up last year. We threw them out
on bobbers. Fished for over an hour, then at high tide BAM...down goes my bobber, he made a good run then stopped. I left the runner on, wait, wait, wait, then off he goes again. Slam the bait runner off and set em' hard...FISH ON !!!!

It was not huge, only about 27-28" but my largest so far this season. Unhooked, revived and released while all the kids looked on.

5 minutes later my son has a pick-up, the fish is screaming the baitrunner, wait, wait, wait,,,,,SET IT.....FISH ON ! he yells, but that one was not on good enough,, few seconds and bye bye fish.

Oh Well, he re-baited, and threw another out. DAD,, he yells look! A fish is beating the crap outta his bait, slapping it, pulling it around, slapping it again, but would not eat it. Maybe the bass was too small I said. Little while later, I got another hit, but no pick-up. We left shortly after, not a bad day......We were gonna go again today, but guess what.............

More good news though while we were fishing I could see birds working and fish splashing in the harbor (same spot as last year FW and BC know), so guess where I'm heading to in the boat this week?????

Things done at the last possible minute are done with the greatest possible information. Procrastination is, therefore, the most efficient means of doing things.
