Ah, I was missing the "s" at the end. Yeah, I'd say a little jealousy. I mean, I've seen some big fish come out of there, and maybe some even bigger than that, but not very often. At 48" and a "fat belly", it had to weigh upwards of 35-40 lbs.
A few years back, one of the bridge regulars was live lining a shad that was about 14" long, and a moby swallowed it whole, it still had the tail hanging about two inches out of its mouth. But that was the exception, definately not the rule. Most of the keeper fish I see in that area are in the 36" to 40" range.
You also gotta give the kid credit, cause if he caught it while fishing from the bridge, it is no easy feat to land it, with the pilings and all. And if he was near the channel, like most guys are, its a far walk to slide him onto the sand. That's why I rarely fish from the bridge anymore, I keep my feet on the sand. (Hint - the edge of the channel is not necassarily the best spot to be, anyway.
