Question marine paint

I'm in the process of making dual planer boards with redwood for freshwater trolling, and am trying to find a sealer and paint that will hold up in water.

All the paint delers I asked about it here seem mystified.

Any suggestions?

Question think about the old wooden surfboards

they have been used in saltwater which is more corrosive due to the salt...and they all used fiberglass resin to water proof them.
later you can sand the fiberglass resin and paint on top of it.

Look thur the threads in the Plug Building forum. These are big wooden plugs that are fished in saltwater getting attacked by bass and big butt toothy bluefish so the methods should be OK for freshwater too. http://www.striped-bass.com/vbulleti...?s=&forumid=19
