You can not do it yourself you have to send it in. There is a place in New Bedford that does it. I remember calling them last year and asking them about it. I have one unit that is coming up.

I remember the conversation a little...the bottom line with these units are that you should probably only replace the batteries once, after that they are pretty obsolete (almost 10 years)and you should get a new unit with fresh technology.

Also, if someone gave a used unit to you, you probably need to update the registration info.
