3 little Herring

Went to a herring run over the weekend with animal. Low water wasnt expecting to see much, then there they were. 3 little herring making their way upriver in skinny water, god bless their little hearts. Now Im waking up at sun up

I cant picture them without a circle hook in their backs Herring on 25 feet of line with a big balsa thill float at the 25'mark, sliding back into a nice smooth current they were alot of work but man were they fun

Domination takes full concentration..

Ah, yes. Fond memories of netting herring at Gilbert Stuart and livelining at Sprague Bridge.
I had the nicest livewell I built for the back of my Blazer. A dozen herring would last 4 or 5 hours. Recirulating bilge pump plugged into the truck.

Alas, all gone!

No boat, back in the suds.

Hey Vic! Remember the night you called me at 2:00 AM and I answered the phone? We ended up fishing the East side of PJ Light.

No boat, back in the suds.

Still got the keep alive system that worked great as long as you used the foam filter to keep the scales from clogging the pump. I can remember the made dash with the bucket to the floating laundry basket before I bought the live well.

Anyway , it was a lot of fun but it was a lot of work too!

I doubt the herring remember the days of hooks in their backs so fondly. Just sayin.'

I've yet to see a single herring in the Bournedale run

And the people who have, haven't seen many.

Thanks Mark! It is right around the corner from me. I'll take the kids down today - should be fun.
