I fished with BigFish and Fishchick last fall on a windy day with me using my paddle Ocean Kayak and they both had Hobies. That was when I realized that my next yak will be a Hobie without question. I was bustin my hump paddling agains the wind while they peddled along with no problems. I never minded paddling before, but that day made me regret not spending the money on the Hobie.....

The hobie pedal drive is great when you are fishing currents/rips and want to hold your position and cast into the rip.... esp with the larger turbo fins you can idle pedal and cast with both hands free.... plus your legs are stronger than your arms.... if you really want to go fast you can pedal and paddle at the same time... with my Revo I can sustain 5+ knots for 5-10 minute stretches
