How do you know if your gas stove is dangerous?

I would first send your landlady a certified letter explaining the problem and stating you feel the situation is dangerous. Give her a week to have the stove totally fixed or replaced. Tell her your going to contact someone (see above) and that you will be escrowing your rent money until the problem is fixed. Maybe give her the option that you can get the stove replaced but that it will come out of your rent money.
