new from the southcoast

just wanted to say "hey" to everyone. i work the beaches primarily in the westport, ma. area, and i am now just starting to crank up my yearly addiction.went out saturday night/sun morn, lot of fish, nothing to brag about yet!

Welcome aboard!!! We, uh, might need to hook up some time as that's one hole in my coast. I've yet to work Newport & Westport but a couple people I know do pretty good down there...

So what do you use? Plugs, bait, eels, eels, or eels??

Me, I tend to use eels at night but haven't been out much this year and fish only up into the low 20 pound range...

Wecome to the group, great area you have their, use to fish it a lot,love the area,--- I took my wife on our fist date at 5;30 am out of Westport river, got lucky and guessed right, that was 32 years ago.//// Enjoy

i usually use chunk mackrel, and save the eels for the magic hours just before dawn. I have been just to crazy with work to commit myself to the beach, but things are looking up.

red, welcome. It is nice to have someone from that very fishy but quiet area from Narragansett Bay to the Canal.
