Anyone ever try to build a CCBC 7600 surf darter? Anyone ever use one? They seem to be real scarce. Was it because they fished well and got used or because they were only made for a very short while? Always wanted to try and build one but never got around to it. I like the shape alot. Don't even know if they were more of a surface lure or if they were really a darter.

From what I hear they didn't swim great, Gary Soldati has been working on his version for a few years and I think he has it about right now. I think there may be a pic. of it on his site. |

I would give one a try? Maybe get a bunch of guys to make a few (must be tested) and all get together on the water someplace and fish and see how they work....maybe swap them?

I made the red headed one for a lady friend who uses it for fresh water bass fishing in maine... she has caught LM, SM, and pickeral with it on Highland lake in Bridgton. It is close to a CCBC darter... |

yes... through trial and error I finally got one to do what I wanted with a tail weight( wlike the original)... I've got several on my bench in need of final paint... hopefully for plugfest... |
