Great game. If we lived in Minnesota or Michigan, it would be a huge deal for the local colleges. It's too bad around here that people just don't get into college sports, especially hockey because we have some really good programs in NE.

I would actually argue that college hockey is the biggest college sport in this area. BC and BU have powerhouse programs that draw well all season. UMass, UNH, Maine, etc all draw well too, oh and you can't forget VT. I've been to some BU games and the atmosphere is very cool.

It's bigger than other sports in this area, but that's because the other sports aren't popular at all. Out in the midwest, they talk about college hockey on sports radio, and not just the playoffs or Frozen Four. I haven't heard anything about BC's win on WEEI today. Boston is really only a pro sports town. The colleges draw ok, but it's pretty much all students and alumni. I've gone to some BU games because both my parents are alumns, and it is fun but I don't think they were ever close to selling out.
