Look in your closing documents for survey date used for your property transaction. If it was recent, there may still be pins or stakes in place. Locate your plotplan as well. Then check with building commisioners office to see if there are any in the file from previous permits.

And if you are on speaking terms with your neighbor, ask if he has a recent survey of his property, and also walk the property "lines" with him. If there are any differences of opinion, you might as well get them out on the table now.
