Open clams and put them on a cookie sheet. Put a teaspoon or more of dry white wine in each clam, be sloppy so a lot of it winds up on the cookie sheet. Take garlic powder and sprinkle each clam very generously with it. again be sloppy so a lot winds up on the cookie sheet. Cut a bell pepper into small squares, just big enough to fit on top of each clam. Then cut bacon strips into slightly larger pieces so it will extend over the edge of each clam. when cutting the bacon use the meaty part and save the fat. Put the pepper and then the bacon over each clam, put the fatty part on the cookie sheet itself. Bake at 350-375 for 20 minutes. At then end put on the broiler to crisp the bacon. Serve on a plate with a lip that will keep the clams level, and spoon the juices in the pan into each clam.
