Rod Stolen last night Hingham
Posting for a friend...
St Croix saltwater with Fin-nor Ahab spinning reel stolen last night in Crow Point in Hingham.
Working on getting a better description and picture. If some junkie attempts to sell it to you let us know.

Fin Nor Black reel with wooden knob. St Croix charcoal with green ribbon.
BTW Crow point buffalo chicken calzones are crack.
This is the WRONG person to steal from. They're asking for the rod to be returned with no questions asked. That would be the smartest thing for the junkie to do.

I have a few relatives that live on the point, Will ask them to keep an eye out. Was it taken from a driveway or on the mooring?

This is one of the GOOD things about the internet...it allows us to help our own and police the scumbags that otherwise would go undetected...

The internet is an amazing place. Especially the fishing community. Someone here has offered to replace the reel for free.

I work in the field of electronic security and surveillance. You can put cameras on your vehicle very economically. Mostly used for front and rear view but there's no reason you couldn't roof mount one looking back over the bed of your truck. The camera looks like a GPS antenna and record to a cigarette sized 12VDC powered device that takes an SD chip. Great for mored boats etc...
Be careful where you pick your nose, cameras are everywhere now a days. They're small enough to hide in ball point pen. Look at the door frames when you enter and exit Walmart. Little black dimples is all you see but they're hi res cameras.

3 questions for ya! liv2fish
how economically are we talkin?
where to get them?
and lastly, Isn't this then one of the most growing fields
as far as jobs are concerned and also for installers?
the kid who recovered his stolen laptop had it configured to send the video feed to a site where he could log in and see the thief using his laptop... it would seem like that's a great idea but maybe not applicable to surveillance cameras until a cheaper connection is in service but with
IP6 out now soon a reality.

I was really surprised to hear about this. Usually this seems like a close knit nieghborhood. I don't live far from there and run down Downer Ave to the yacht club and back home usually around 5:30 or 6:00 in the morning (a nice three mile loop). I will keep my eyes open. It might be worth while to report it to hingham police, they are usually very responsive to this stuff.
BTW - Crow Point buffalo finger calzone is killer, a large can feed my whole family of six.
Really sorry to hear about this though, I hope he gets it back.

This is the result of drug usage going through the roof. Opiates are taking over on the south shore. There have been all sorts of break ins around Scituate too.

As a Hingham native it's hard to hear these things happening it what was a pretty idealistic place to grow up. I'll be back in the area in a few weeks and will keep my eyes out.
Also completely agree on Buffalo Chicken Calzone! Also a big fan of the steak tip dinner...yum
