I think with the guys are saying is there is no one reel rod combination that is perfect in all situations. My go to set up for plugging down there. Is a 10 foot super surf paired with a ZX2-22 20 pound Fireline. For jigging I use a custom breakaway 1209 with a VS250. 50 pound PP. For pencils currently I use an xSRA 1322 – 2 Paired with an empro 6500. 40 pound samurai. That set up is in a be replaced over the winter and the rod will be rewrapped conventional.
