the Cabo has been a workhorse, and sits on my 1208 well-enough. I do have a new reel in mind for the rod too (was gonna keep the 1208 setup intact for heavier tackle....)
reel I'm looking at is the new Shimano Ultegra5500XSC - "longcast version of a Stradic" is how its been described to me. not available in the US, but should be here in a year or two.
