Effing ridiculous what I have left to finish and wire. Plus I just bought 10# of 308L TIG in New Bedford. The stuff is from India and significantly stiffer than the usual 308L (more like 314). For what I spent ($103) I'm going to use it. This is going to be torture.

if I have/had the time, I'd come over to help you with wiring George

LOL. I have not wired anything yet either and I had to come home today with a stomach bug so god knows what I'll end up finishing.
Next time ask me about the wire. I got buying power when it comes to that stuff and no you won't be bothering me.

Man, there is some incredible work on this post. My wife keeps asking what I am going to do with all these plugs and I tell her that "he who dies with the most plugs wins." Then I show her this post, yep she just rolls her eyes. Here are the final ones painted and waiting for tails. Three 7" Sandeel swimmers and two 4.875 musso swimmers. I messed up on the white one and must have drilled it for a high slot lefty #1, so we will see how that one swims. May be a good twist, little deeper.

Next year I am going to plug fest, this year I used all my vacation for my daughters swimming but this is her last year. Can't wait to see that event.

Here are a few things I have been working on.

A squid darter, the paint work was inspired by a flaptail squid, Greek had given me, lots of time into this one, redesigned my darter & am happy with the darting motion.

5 1/2" Nike, played with them a bit and although the original was unweighted I found them to swim better with a bit of lead in them.

Handcarves are my new obsession! The yellow one is a 7" redfin copy, the middle one is an 8", I wanted a slightly larger plug, the 3rd one is 11" around 4 oz , the mackerel paint was done by Jmac, they look lifelike!

A few more,

6 1/2" Nike, borrowed an original off of Gremlin, Thanks Jamie!
Reduced the tailweight a bit & made 2 different versions, single & double hooks, also AYC & sugar pine, added a little more belly weight in the single hook version to compensate, this plug has a darting motion that is very awesome!
Not sure how the original swam, but am very impressed with them.

Next batch is some skinny pikies Fatneck & I made started messing with last year.

& a few more darters,

See you at plugfest!
