I've got some "back up" waders that I want to put another set on...
...and I think this time around, I may add some spikes to them....I was thinking about cutting down some very big nails...putting a tip on em...and maybe using some washers to help secure them...
...If I do it before you do, (if you do it at all)....I'll let ya know how I made out...

I'm figuring on buying some short, not too thick nails.....cutting them down...re-tipping them on a grinder....and adding some washers to them.....drilling some holes in the soles...and strategically placing them so that they don't interfere with the adhesive part of applying them.....
...I think the soles could use a few more spikes, even though I haven't had any problems with them....AT ALL!!....
....I should follow the saying..."If it ain't broke, don't fix it..."
.....but I'm a stubborn Green!!...

I was thinking about some spikes on the outside border....shown in the picture below, but I'm afraid its gonna allow the edge to lift...due to lack of glue....and since you walk mainly on the ball of your foot....I figure if I cover those spots...it can't hurt..

Way ta go bloo! That looks real good. I think the length of the nail is important. Maybe useing (what i think they call) self driving nails used for hard wood floor's, I havn't seen them in stainless.

Bloo, have you thought about trying to use SS screws instead of nails? You can probably get them whatever lenght you want.

I also recall that gas stations used to insert carbide studs into tires with some sort of hand gun. Haven't found anyone who has one lying around though.

Goose - they're lifesavers! Simply the best invention for the rock hopper!
Bloo - if you go into production, are you going to have a special "Krabbers" variant? Like this?

...FishPart, I have thought about something like that....
...my concern was the size of the head of the screw. The closer I can keep the sole down the better. Check the diagram to see what I mean. If I went with the screw, I would think that the area where the screw was inserted wouldn't have as much of good seal as it would if I used the nail. (It wouldn't sit as good). I've thought about maybe 'boring' out the area on the sole where the screw would go, just so that it fit more snugly, but why ??...If I can probably just use a nail....
...I know the screw would eventually make a home in the sole, but would it effect the application at the time, not allowing the sole to completely rest on the wader due to the size of the head?
..... ...if you can understand that....

Goose going back one more page I see you are looking for Korkers. We have a couple of board sponsors who I am sure have Korkers even if they don't show up in the online stores. It's worth a call.
I don't buy much but when I do I like to support our sponsors.

I'm glad you liked Bloo - Obviously made with you in mind....
Couple things to consider on your korker modification...
Any nails or screws you use could potentially corrode on top, round, snap off or wear away the head of the nail or screw, and eventually go up from the sole, through the bottom of your shoe and into your foot.
Some people have used larger headed bolts or screws to do the same thing as they'll be less susceptible to getting a second pointy end...
Another thing to keep in mind, a good cobbler may be able to trim the sides and permanantly affix those to your wader boots if you wanted...
