Ben, we might disagree on Politics, but on PP we're the same....
Wetting it is key... if your by your self, leave the spool submerged, back up 10 feet, put on a glove and wind the line on TIGHT... I use a small amount of 30lb AN-40 for backing, then PP to the top, on my Abu, 965 and Squidder.....
My spin still has AN-40 30lb on it.,... force of habit i guess...

to spool braid at home, you can use a set up like i have. take an old conventional reel (i used an abu 6000 that was collecting dust) and removed the levelwind. put your backing on the reel you plan to spool up. now reel the braid onto the spair conventional reel. put the spair reel with the braid on a rod and secure the rod to a table with a clamp. be careful if you plan on using the rod in the future not to clamp it too tight. connect the backing to the braid, tighten the drag on the spair reel to a medium setting, and reel against the drag of the spair reel. this will lay the line on your reel tighter than any shop can do that i have seen. this gives you a rock hard base for the looster "used" line to sit on. this method has almost totally eliminated the issues that arise from improperly spooled braid. i like this method better than tackle shops and it has worked out great for everyone that i have told about it.
but, you could always just go against the grain like Krissy.

Braid to me is a matter of getting used to each lines particular pros and cons. I started with 30# original (not stealth) spiderwire on my spinners and I'm still using it. Yeah it get's an occassional wind knot, but that's usually my fault for not inspecting the spool before starting any retreive, yeah it gets frayed (looking), but I'm still fishing line that's almost 4 years old, so I'm not complaining. I put some 50 lb stealth on the 6000 stradic and so far so good, although I'm betting I'd add 50 feet with original 40#, it's just that much limper. I think some reels are just more braid friendly and the Shimano Stradics I use seem to handle it well, as did the baitrunners before them.

It’s true what they say about braided line, it is a lot more sensitive than mono.
That’s interesting about putting on wicked tight. When ever I noticed a knot in my spinning reel, I would cast out as far as it would go and then have to pull line out by hand for another minute or so. The knot was always way in the back. Could never figure out how the hell I could get a knot inside the section of line that had never left the spool.

I currently use Power Pro but really havent given Stealth a fair shake. I had it on my Abu conventional and didnt like it at all, but thats not to say it wont work well on spinners?
The new Stren Braid looks and feels really nice but havent given it a test yet. Plus its almost 25% more $$$$??
