FLASH: these are close to meaningless regular season games this weekend. You guys are happy jockeying for a wild card position??? After being heartbroken so many times, how do you get so excited this early? You guys have been one out away from winning it all...what's the big deal about a wild card position, or a playoff series? You need to win it all in order to experience any kind of satisfaction. I don't want to see you guys peak too soon. Relax for a while, wait till some progress is made, then go crazy. You'll win a series and earn the right to celebrate soon, I'm sure.

In any playoff round, you guys have the pitching advantage over the Yanks.. Hence, meaningless games. Home field is irrelevant versus superior pitching. Sox get the edge.

BW- that's my point: it's only the AL East at stake...nothing to get cranked up about yet. We've all been there before, right?

I know but it is a relief, as a fan, to get stoked about making the playoffs. Joe Torre won't let his players go there so I did. hehe. And, if they did, and then lost the division it would be an interesting twist to the end of the season. Especially considering the way it began.
As well. it then would make the 1st round a wild one ....

God grant that I may live to fish until my dying day,
And when it comes to my last cast, I most humbly pray,
When in the Lord's safe landing net I'm peacefully asleep,
That in His mercy I be judged, as big enough to keep.

Good that they're in the playoffs, even if it does mean the wildcard spot. Should be another interesting series if the yanks play the sox. One can only hope...

As of today.....1. If they end in a tie at the end of the season, Boston gets it due to a better head to head record .

They don't do Head to Head, There'd be a 1 game Playoff to decide

don't think it matters much now. if they did tie it would be decided by head to head record. only way there would be a one game playoff is if only one of the the teams would'nt make playoffs, since both are in it's head to head.
