There's a lot of history in that print - Fearing was mayor of Newport in 1894 and quite a collector of angling prints and literature. He published a book that is probably the rarest of any in angling literature and would probably be the most expensive in the current market - if any were to become available.
If memory serves, French's wife was a direct descendent of George Washington and was said to have attended a costume ball in Newport wearing an heirloom locket with a lock of his hair.
It was an incredible crowd of movers and shakers in Newport in those days - and they were serious about their bass!
