All I know is that I hardly even notice-- & certainly never critique-- other guy's catches/ pride (esp. if they're under 50#! )

Since my biggest is only 49... I better hold my tounge here!

Issue is not how big that fish was: issue is, why does a guy with a 50 & a very busy family life "contribute" these nuggets daily to a website he seems frustrated (& attacked?) by? (Then edit/ delete these well- conceived/ written nuggets afterward??)

I love great Bass fishermen!!... (know them all-- by rep., or in person!)... but have no use for those who exaggerate their catches... yet put down others for doing same! (Basic psychology)

(btw... a 49 is pretty much a 50, right? So-- I got MY 50 ??

I would have to agree that a 36" bass is typically in the "mid" teens. Little tought to tell without a picture. From my experiences, you need to hit the 40" mark if you want to start talking about 20 lb. fish. I usually don't measure fish, only weight them on the Boga. The one fish I did measure this year was 40"/21 lbs. with a few bait fish and crabs in the belly.

By the way, if it's your personal best so far be proud of it and put the picture back. As one of my mentors likes to say "I used to catch a lot more 20 lb. bass before I brought a scale." Nothing wrong with overestimating the weight. It's happened to all of us.

is a 49 a 50?? depends whos scale you use was it a fifty right out of the water...who knows if you got 49.9 I WOULD GIVE YOU 50!! I am not saying its wrong to exagerate some but hey adding 10pounds is a little much in my book, everyone should be proud of there catch no matter what and I am happy for anyone who lands a bass but I just cant see lying to onesself, sorry but a couple of pounds here and there I can live with but I cant stretch a 12 into a 20

I saw a 40" Bass go 39.5lbs. Had four fluke stacked in her belly, and one lodged in her throut. She was scouped up in a landing net while wadling on the surface, by a parasail boat. Where's Blacksheep when we need him!
