So far my Saltigas have been problem-free.

While I haven't sent in my Saltigas for service yet after almost 2 years of use (they don't need it yet - but I will this winter), the customer service rep I spoke to last year was very helpful and informed me that Daiwa USA's policy is $15 or so for an annual service. We'll see...

I always carry a spare spool into the surf so it's a complete deal breaker for me. It wasn't a quality judgement, just an observation.

Pie...you still can't take anything from the ZZ's. I too fished mine hard before this year when I switch to 200vs. Theres no doubt you get what you paid for. Like I mentioned earlier my z's spent just as much time under water as any VS will and held up as long as I disd my part part...IMO dollar for dollar how ca you can't go wrong with a z thats been slightly modified. Since I
m lucky enough to afford it they've(z's) become back up to my vs.
