Trip to Maine today Storm pics

I've got 121 pics from today and they all need to be edited down in size so bear with me. If anyone wants the full size pics of any of these then email me they're like 3000x2000 size.

This first one is Long Sands just after high tide. 30-40% of the sidewalk is gone there. The whole length of the beach looks like this today.

This is near Libby's looking northeast. Those waves are HUGE. Full of seagulls working the white water...probably crabs etc getting stirred up. When those waves hit the rip rap the spray goes up a good 40' here. The beach is a good 30' down at this point.

This one went over the entire road. The other picture shows what almost the entire length of the beach looks like. They're plowing the road with snowplows and front end loaders. There were some big rocks being thrown there while I was there today. I had to be careful where I stopped.

Couple shots of what people's lots look like down there. How'd you like to clean this stuff up. Holy moley. Some of these rocks are 4-500 FEET from where the riprap is. In some cases up the side roads quite a ways.

Normally I fish on these rocks. Not today Dad said yesterday that it was whitewater as far as he could see.

Nice pics. Mum, me and my little bro spent summers at Libbys when I was 9-12 years old. Not as bad as '78 when the candy store at Libbys was destroyed, but still awesome pics (I was wondering if Fun-O-Rama was still there, spent many hours there playing Skee-Ball when I was a little kid). Nice pics of The Nubble too.
See any "Maine lobsters" on the road ?

Things might be a little different fishing from shore this year. All the structure has been rearranged. There's sand where just rocks where and rocks piled up to the top of the storm walls where the sand was.
We might not have the bottom contour we've all got used to and that scares me!
Just when I thought I was a good fisherman, because of a couple good fishing holes.

Seacoast NH

I should be catching Z's, instead spending my nights, catching fish and letting them all go!

striprman FUNORAMA rocks. I got tickets from 35 years ago

Skeeball has been my fav in there my entire life. They still use the original maple balls from back then too Not sure if you know or not but the movie theatre and Pop's Shell shack were torn down and are being converted into a hotel now.

Casting Z you are so correct , this year I have been watching some of my spots very closely and I am amazed at the changes I've seen. There's going to be some nice fishing on LS with that little bowl now there...it was all rocks before for about 25 years. Now it's a nice sand bowl area that should hold some fish in that corner.

Not sure if anyone noticed, but behind the pile of sand in the Short Sands parking lot is the #2 buoy. There's a better shot of it here. What a mess...

I'm lucky if I can find the water...

Pops has been gone for many years. I can remember going in there as a kid. Shells were real cool back then. The wildlife was neater to a kid though I got my first blowfish there.

Scott, thanks for sharing. Heading to the Mnts tomorrow to see some of the larger rivers such as the Saco and Swift. Might head to the Maine Coast on Fri.
