Snowing here in western CT right now. Big heavy flakes coming down at a pretty good clip. We've had a little over an inch so far. Its not sticking to the roads, but is sticking to almost everything else.

Here near the east end of the canal, I swear it's been blowing harder since I got home than it ever did during Sandy.

Say it ain't so - love the green glow at night - just enough to see bass blow up on your needlefish. Wrote a story about it - have it somewhere.

I rode the bike into that NE wind from Pleasant Street to the corner before the oil tanks this morning around 7 and I almost had a heart attack. Took me about 10 minutes too. Didn't even have to peddle on way back. On way home from work today at 4 going over the Bourne Bridge I almost went 2 lanes over in a gust. One of the worst crossings I have ever experienced in 25 years of driving back and forth daily.

I've ridden the length of the Canal into 30 mph winds, and even in my low gears and at my level of fitness, it ain't easy. It's like climbing an 8% grade hill---for 7 miles.
I can imagine it on a heavy bike, with two rods and gear in the baskets. At least you picked the right way to start and finish.

I am in Falmouth and I agree with you. I think just that little turn of East vs. Northeast has the wind hitting harder at my house, less land to travel over. This storm has been a bit worse in terms of wind and definitely rain. Only difference may be the lack of storm surge I guess.

From what i understand the weather channel is now naming winter storms, but NOAA is not recognizing it. Next on deck is Brutus. I think it helps their hype machine.

Hope you're not just trying to lull me into a false sense of relief knowing I'll be at Block for the next 7 days or so?

Sandy was a bit lower in pressure 988 vs this storm which bottomed at 994. Still pretty strong storms
