DZ thanks for sharing ... and yeah you can get some big silver girls in those channels at night - and they can make mincemeat out of 50-pound test ... 60 - 80-pound tippets/leaders will hold up longer, although I have had tarpon shear 100-pound leaders as if they were 2-pound test ... but if you find yourself fishing the tannin waters of the Everglades backcountry -just on the other side of Florida Bay from the Keys ... you can get away with slightly heavier tippets/leaders ... |

Jim, we are leaving the day after Xmas and driving down. Spending the first month in and around Everglade City then heading to Marathon Key Feb 1. We then plan on a couple of weeks on Marathon and then Key West. |
