For me Bass Pro and Cabelas are more for shooting , hunting , camping gear than for fishing..

most of the time I go into my local shop and i think they could give a crap about me too. i'd rather be treated like crap by a computer screen than a human being, so I choose the online retailers...

there doesn't seem to be the resources
to have these mega stores

people in this neck of the woods
are more into the no shooting fishing? no parking
not in my backyard mindset
