It's not the bait
At the end of your line
It's the fishing hole
Where all the fish is blind

What we need is a surf fishing video game. Anyone got a friend at EA sports?
Heres what I have so far:
Create yourself. Get a simple set up, 704, some 9 foot rod. Some simple gear. ie. cheap waders, mono, bucktail, redfin, needle.
Many different levels, to be ranked by difficulty and ability to produce a cow. ie. Cutty, Block, MV, Outer Cape, Canal, etc.
As angler gets better more options become available. ie Points towards stuff like a VS, wetsuit, more lures, hidden levels, custom gear.
Some how tie in time, tides, moon phase, etc.
Along the way have the ability to win the Striper Cup, Derby, and other tourneys. Gain points for a shot of a cow. ie. OTW Cover Shot.
Have the home page look like a man cave where you can select your gear, where you want to fish, etc.
Have various points in the game where experts give you advice.
So if anyone knows how to program PM me and we can get going on this.
Ideas? This might need its own thread.
Seems like a good way to spend the off season.

I think there might be a connection between spongiform brain diseases and eel slime...............you know, like Mad Eel Disease. First you start gaining weight, then you get delusions about young women's interests, and finally you end up learning yoga so you can hump your own leg. After that all that is left is the drooling, babbling, and switch to spinning tackle. Tragic really.

start writting yer memoirs,,,,,,,,,,,,,
especially to include last year's VERY
pheeshnominal season!!! even if it never gets published,
it takes time, you could share yer experiences with yer
grandkids much easier that way, and it doesn't cost you SQUAT!!
you DO have some pen and paper,,,,,,,,,,RIGHT?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
the only other thing that comes to mind
that is FREE and takes up time,,,,,,,,,,,,,IS
volunteer work!!! there is always some way to
contibute to either your local community, regionally, or
to a national agency somewheres. check the yeller pages,
the closest church, Senior Citizens Center, Big Brother,
YMCA (teach sum kids to surfcast), Boy Scouts of America,
or the nearest library and become a story reader for kids?????
while i realize that ALL of the above might cut into yer imbibement,
the rewards far faaaaar outweigh the sacrifice of a few too many brewskis
AND you might actually enjoy/learn something about yerself in the process
,,,,,,,,,,,,,good luck with your "pursuit of happymike"
