I can give ya lift. One problem is that I have a good 3 and a half hr ride to get there from Plymouth. My post was to invite people on the island out fishing on the boat but I have no problem with you just hooking a ride with us. More will make the journey more fun.

Mar T & JohnB, I'm not the final say on this, GB is, but I am afraid that this trip booked up about 4 days after the invite was made back over the winter time. Just not enough room and we are over booked as it is ... We've had probably a dozen requests for people wanting spots if others drop out.

We do plan to have some get togethers this year... In fact, we have our first shore leg of the annual S-B Tourney in Rhody in June. I just bumped up the other thread and we should get the final plans underway...

As I mentioned previously, I will be staying in MV. I was just offering to take a couple people off the rock to liveline some pogies from my boat. If there is no room to pick somebody up or if nobody wants to do that type of fishing, it's no big deal. I don't see how we can overcrowd the crew if we are just doing are thing from the boat.

Where on MV ? Another "FAVORITE" spot and certainly a great time to be there.

Sorry, I misread a little. The "Official" plan of the Cuttyhunk Derby is to fish the SW end of the Island from shore with some people getting what little needed sleep at the Hotel d' Greg and some people roughing it in a tent on Island. That portion of the trip, the actual accomidations, is booked up. As far as boat fishing or a possible Bar-B-Q? That's still up in the air - Grilled Pogies, eh?

JohnB - have you fished those waters before?

Thanks,

John

I have not...that is why I am using the gathering as an excuse of sorts to make my way over there for a day. I would think the place would be as fished out as anyplace could be because of it's reputation. We'll all see for ourselves

Thumbs up

John - I'm no Cuttyhunk expert or even newbie as I've never even fished it but I've talked to some that have boat & shore. My understanding is that from shore, where you can get access things are pretty wide open other than all the rocks. But from boat I guess there are a LOT of boats (and rocks) in there at times. Like Scorton's Ledge crazy but again I haven't seen it yet...

oh no!!

If it's as bad as a hot fishing day at Scorton Ledge then I may be a no go. I have such a bag o tricks I want to try over there that it might make me overcome my hatred of a fleet.
