We had mandatory evac. Sat. at 4:00. Police/Fire came around at 10:00 PM asking people to leave. Lost power 6:00 AM. Around 11:00 the tree came down across the street blocking the road. I cut some branches off so cars can be by.

A little later my neighbor came by and we all went walking around the hood and to the beach. 2nd picture is around the corner (Emma the cutie is my God daughter). People were kayaking up the street.

The 3rd picture is the road I walk to to go to the beach. The road ends at the beach.

Yeah, no wind in Fairhaven at all.
None.
Those aren't 3-4 foot rollers building in a quarter of a mile. Nope.

So i lose power yesterday morning and there were about 75 power company trucks staged at a couple locations in town. This morning i drive past about 50 that are still staged, but 4 miles a way i dont have power. Something isnt adding up. i realize that when the wind is honking they cant work but there was barely a ripple on my lake when i jumped in at 430 this morning. The water temp dropped about 10-15 degrees.

Lost power yesterday afternoon and it's still out. Luckily we didn't have any damage to the house or property, other than a couple small branches down. We got the important stuff from the fridge into a marine cooler last night and now my biggest concerns are my pool being a huge mess and my eel tank not having power for the airator. I can't complain about anything considering some of the damage I saw on my way into work today.

Since my fridge died on Friday, I have been able to successfully keep things cold and frozen by placing dry ice in the freezer. If you can locate some, it works great.

Falmouth had gusts to the low 60's once the wind came SW and probably a 3 foot surge. Great Harbor in WH was wild and there is no way you wanted your boat there, but sheltered places like Quissett were fine. I left my boat in and it was fine. The tree damage was mostly limbs or dead stuff. A lot of people out driving around in the storm. Surf drive got sanded over and the herring runs all plugged.
It would be a good day to go beach combing.
I'm guessing 3-4 days before things are fishable again. Took a week after Bob.
I'm hopeful this blow will have moved those bass off chatham into Nantucket sound and set up an early september fishery we get some years.

From a buddy who did a harbor tour in NB about an hour ago, 2 boats were NOT damaged that were on moorings yesterday.
Thats one hell of a non-event.

No power at home but work is fine...figures. We're being told it could be 5 days or so before power is restored? NG trucks are driving around "assessing the damage", marking the damaged areas with traffic cones then leaving.

we are for the most part fine in westport. Drove around town yesterday and very few trees down. Only lost power for about 2 hrs. Had to struggle to pickup enough twigs in my yard to fill the wheelbarrel. Took me longer to pick stuff up in prep and put it all back than it did to clean up. Disappointed didn't even get to play with the chainsaws.
my family in Kingston got demolished. No power in whole town. Lots of trees down everywhere. Be lucky to have power back by weekend.
like I said, we lucky

wow, really? we lost power for twelve and a half hours... tried to go out and look around, couldn't get more than a mile or so from the house... trees down in both directions... came home, waited awhile for someone to clear the trees... finally got out and drove around... new trees down, couldn't get home.. Main road was still closed this A.M. at Charlotte White...big tree down...
Heard lots of chainsaws and chippers around here today, although I only needed a rake and wheelbarrow for about4-5 hrs...

We are lucky our area has power but a lot Marshfield still out. I had a whole pick up truck bed full of twigs, branches and leaves in my front yard....some big limbs in back need to go tomorrow. Very lucky.
I went for a ride on my motorcycle just now.....BIG mistake. With no streetlights people are driving like total idiots....even streets where there's not even a signal there....stop signs you name it....it's a free for all I almost got creamed 3 times in 45 minutes. Put it back in the garage till things are back to normal.

I drove to NH friday to fish, no wind no waves till saturday night, quit at around midnite and took a nap. drove back to VT in the rain and was home by 7 am. Power never went out, no trauma in my life. My mother called me and one of my brothers was worried about staying at his house below a dam and went to Killington, He' s stuck there for a while, another brothers woodshop got almost washed out that is the water washed everything out around it. Downtown Brandon VT got washed out. I kinda like living in a high spot in the swamp.
