Headed out to BI Saturday .. That is where I was when I first read this thread,,, geeez 3 yrs. ago now . I'm excited about the trip but Flap will always be in the back of my mind going out there . I feel very fortunate to have gotten to know him from "Plugfest" and fishing with him and Numby . I had no idea he wasn't in tip top shape .. When we hit an island he was gone .. Not a chance of keeping up with him .. RIP Steve ... I still have my "waker" you made me and treasure it .

Hard to believe 3 years already. Here are a couple of pics sent to me recently of Steve by Saltfly. It was a day the 3 of us spent in our 3 tin boats on a beautiful summer day out front of Barnstable Harbor.

It was a priviledge to have known, fished with him, and swapped tales with him. Steve was a hell of a good guy and will always be in my heart.

I just stumbled across this thread this morning and though I did not know Steve, I can feel the void that his loss has created. I know that when we tragically lost club member Al P. last year, we all felt very empty in our hearts. My thoughts are with his family who have lost such a wonderful husband, father and man.

I barely knew Flap but enjoyed turning the screw. The fishing community has lost a very prominant and informative member. I am truly happy Steve had a fall run to remember. My thoughts turn to his family, whom he spoke of often. Tight Lines Steve, Chris Daniels

I'm shocked. I'm stunned.
Sincere condolences to the Shiraka family, he spoke of you highly and lovingly, often.
Flap, stay large upstairs. Thank you for the 10 years I've known you as I think I'm a bit better for it.
George, shout out if there is anything we can do.
