pools
a little over 3 weeks away boys. here is the plan for the pools - pool #1 will be a $10 entry, the biggest cod will win 50%, the biggest non-cod will win the other 50%. so with 40 guys each winner should get around 200 bucks. pool #2 will be the "high roller pool", $20 entry and the biggest fish takes it. pools are optional but i can think of many occasions the guy w/ the big fish didn't enter the pool. let's go kill some fish

IMO biggest non-cod in #1 should get 25%, but that's just me... Although it would be funny to see a $200 ocean pout if we don't get into haddock/pollock.
Do porbeagles count for #2?

lets spread the wealth and not be greedy. if you win one pool you are out of the rest. i would rather have 3 guys w/ smiles on their faces than 1 guy w/ fat wallet that everone hates. in the non-cod catagory and the high roller all legal keeper fish can win. so yes a legal porbeagle is elligable - a wolffish is not

Time to think shared rides for 5/15
May start a new thread if this doesn't
get any attention. I live in DEDHAM
and will leave at 3:30AM for Salisbury,
one hour trip. By myself, can take 2
more plus gear. PM if you live near by
and we can decide on meeting place.
Am thinking of parking lots for St. Susanna
or St. Sebastian,

1. Accurate boss magnum 665h narrow spool. 65# braid 100# flouro leader. Shimano trevala jigging rod rated 50-100 braid.
2. backup. Penn slammer conv. Rod paired with abu 7000i 65# braid.
11 days to go
I'm in Lincoln ri and have room for 3 and gear.

what i usually do is bring 2 setups. one for bait and one for jigging. i prefer to jig but truth be told all my big cod have been on some sort of bait. for a jigging rod i've got an 8' st croix rated to 20 oz paired up w/ a torium 20 w/ 50#braid to a 20' topshot of 60# mono to a 80#leader. for a bait setup just a cheap 7' trophy rod w/ a penn 320gt2 , same line - nothing fancy. for jigs it depends on the weather and where/how deep we fish. maybe someone else can chime in with some intel about that. if the wind is light and we're not deep than you can get away w/ light stuff 7-10 oz. but more likely we'll be jigging 10-20+ oz. remember there are 40 other guys fishing around you - if you go too light you'll scope out too quick and tangle alot. ideally you want to be as verticle as possible. i've got a big ass jig bucket i'll bring and you guys are welcome to dip into it as needed. i poured a ton of 16 and 20 oz bank sinkers at leadfest too. i cant wait to watch eelskimmer sweat with a double header of pollock.
