When and who.....

When and who is someone on this site going to have their own tv show?

I know alot of guys remember "Fishing the North east with Mike Alprin". Thats the kinda show I enjoyed. Supposedly they said that show was the most watched in the region. There where many episodes shore fishing....showing him with bass up to #35, on the south shore , big keepah's on live herring in the ditch and some nice cows in the Vinard sound, even threw in some fresh water.....all local waters.

I'm tired at lookin at yuppies catch schoolie blues, like I seen this week, a tourney out of Falmouth...what a waste if you ask me. I'm not sayin to make a good show all fish must be big but,,, throwin lures off a boat to catch #2-3 blues is pathitic. Just cause these guys got money they can host such a show. Any body can hire a charter. I wanna see one host who's been fishin all his life, someone who isn't afraid to get wet.

Its no secrect that several guys on this site could host such a show, without giving away turf. I wanna see good fisherman in the elements showin the what's when's and why's.

Just a thought.

Sounds good goose!
I've got striper fever so bad now I could do a paint by numbers striper, or a striper jigsaw puzzle..
If there was a quality show dedicated to stripers I'd be in heaven, but the problem is this... most networks want to air shows that will apeal to fishermen nation wide, and whats a trout fishermen from idaho going to do watching a show about plugging for bass?

OTW is doing a new show, something like 5-10 minutes per segment, different stuff. Should be interesting.

I volunteer to be the host, who has the sponser money? I'm ready and I already have a few shows lined up;

-Bluefishing with Clamdigger
-Fishing Mental with Dave aka Bassmaster
-Ditch Jigging with Frick and Frack, or as we fondly call them JP and Slip
-Shore Tuna Fishing with and old friend, Mindi chums alongside.

Oh so many good shows.

Kinda hard to film a fishing show in the dark, especially with the flood lights that would be needed for the camera, unless it was shown in the all green night vision pictures. Would probably make more anti viewers that fans.

Any fisherman that has fished at night should know that the less light, the better. Night vision display would enhance the thrill of catching that big fish, plus it would help to hide the location of that weeks "hotspot".
I used to love watching that show. I beleive it was called "Sport Fishing the Northeast". It used to be on Sunday nights on Fox (channel 25). I remember the host shorefishing the Nort River, and his annual Tuna Safari.

Disinctive spots would have to be at night. Light at night....when the guys on, the cambraman would have to shoot facing the angler, obvisouly you can't do that many places. Just like making a good hunting video....got put your time in and learn from your mistakes.

Bassmaster, is that your birth certificate or aquaman permit?

My dad taught me and Ricky how to ride a bike by taping our feet to the pedals and pushing us down a hill. That makes a more interesting show then seeing guys flyfish for 8" Brookies (which are on 10 times more then us Striper fishermen/women)

seals + plovers =

That show was the best, I wish it were still on. I have that North River episode on tape, and that is one tape I want transfered to DVD. He is a great fisherman, anyone know where he is today?

Was the episode fishing the North River done about 15 years ago during the day where he was running down the grass banks of the North River fighting with a real nice striper? Because if it is, that was absolutely the WORST fishing show I have EVER seen. That episode is THE driving force behind my striper addiction. I have spent soooooooo many hours walking the banks of the North and South Rivers, hoping the canals in search of a similar fish, and have found some nice early spring honey holes, but nothing like he had, in the middle of the day, on I think it was a bright orange popper. I can still picture that episode in my mind clear as day and it drives me insane.
Slip, any way I might be able to get a copy of that clip?

Live eels on a flood tide, I think it was first light to middle of the morning, catching one cow after another.

Sure thing redlite.

It seems his downfall was the tuna trip where everyone was smasshed. One guy was fighting a tuna and the host gave him a slug of booze and proclaimed "This will get your Johnson rod going!" Alot of locals got pissed about the North River show, the spot has very little parking and it got crowded afterwoods.

I'll give you a clue, one prime ingredient missing from what we had, it's called adult bunker. I know a spot above a certain bridge and narrows, very popular now, took a friend there about 12 years ago as it was too snotty outside. We hammered 36-40 inch bass on 1 oz spots fished across and down the current. His first striper outing and he landed 3 over 40 inches.

"-Ditch Jigging with Frick and Frack, or as we fondly call them JP and Slip"

Needed:

1) Duct tape to cover both mouth holes.
2) handcuffs - to prevent mutual line strumming.
