so,,,,
anyone do it?
looking for advise on how to go about catching squid for bait.
i understand the fundamentals of doing it,,,, but is it a waist of time arround boston?
mike
About 3 years ago while inshore codfishing within 5 miles of the North River I reel in my line to fix what I thought would be a fouled jig. Turns out it was a 12-13" squid. It happened again but this time had a dogfish holding onto the half of the squid.
That was the only time I have caught squid in Mass Bay Area. Don't know hold long it would take to get enough bait when specifically looking for squid. I thought my catch was just a "fluke". But I'm sure if in the right spot it can be done. That you can make some real squid bars.
I've never caught or even seen a squid in inshore boston waters.
Mike, boat ready yet?
