Me too...

I've lurked here in the past also. The server is 100% better now! I'm a Jersey guy but I am friends with "Steve in Mass". We fish together when he comes visiting the IBSP area of NJ.

Thumbs up

Welcome aboard Striped-Bass.com Mikeybluefish, I think I've seen you around at flyfishsaltwaters... Are you another eastern mass fella? (the kind that Frankie D hates )

Arby - welcome aboard to you too - are things as slow down in Joisey as we've heard?

Yep - the server is 1 bazillion times better now (OK maybe a mil or so). I was stuck having to wait until a script was available to switch between the crappy board system I had before to this gem... SO much faster now...

johnr...thanks for the welcome. No, I'm not much of a fly-fisherman, only been fly-fishing in sweetwater 3 times this year. Actually my stomping grounds are the rockaways, jamaica bay and breezy point here in ny. I do a couple of trips to montauk during the year and also harass OPF in jersey at sandy hook on a regular basis. Actually visited rhode island for the first time this past sunday (newport) and loved it! man, that place is fishy!

hey arby....how are ya?!?!

Cool

I recently moved to Lil' Rhody from eastern mass and I'm digging it. I have yet to work the East Bay/Newport side of things but the pics I've seen are sweet - hope to have a go of it real soon too (Fishpart - got your e-mail )

YUP - something about buying a house and raising a son on one income (because da wife is staying home) just wasn't possible in the People's Republic of Mass. But I have a new 3 bedroom home a couple of casts away from Narragansett Bay that the mortgage is within a few hundred of my Braintree rent (for a divey - less than 2 bedroom apartment) . I can still get to my favorite Mass spots (only an extra 20-60 minutes) and my favorite Rhody spots are an hour closer...

And I'm even learning new things like "I'll have a cabinet" & "From Warwick to Narragansett, why would you want to drive that far? That's almost another state" and that every Rho Dyslander's hero, Salty Brine, has sold out to do cheap TV furniture commercials... But Eye still drinK meye booze from bahhs an Bahstin Habah...

that's "peoples republic of cambridge", for the record ...real estate has become pricey in the bay state, which is why i live in the woods of taunton and commute to work in boston...

so your wife is retired too, huh?? this month my wife's been home for a year since my second son was born...so far, so good...

- Yes, the land of Happy-Crunchy, I lived in one of Cambridges' suburbs off and on for 7 years - Brookline - same thing but less evil....

Congrats on 2 sons!!! They are a ball. My oldest (he's also the youngest and will be the only) is now 9 months and he's a blast... Yes, my wife is semi-retired (purely in the Go OUT and Get a Job sense ) but we are still looking to get alternative incomes in order to make up for what we lost (she was making good coin ) ... Taunton, eh? That area was on the list after Rhody & Plymouth. And it is a better commute from Taunton to Boston than from Warwick (stones through from the old Rocky Point Park) to South Station where I work

Thanks for the welcome, John. Yeah, you guys in NE are lucky right now. (I saw Saltheart's picture) It should begin to pick up down in my neck of the woods pretty soon. I have yet to make a pilgrimage to the Ditch but I said "yet" . For the most part I fish flat sandy Beaches as that's the terrain around here but have recently gotten into Jetty Hopping.

Welcome aboard

Nice to see some familiar faces showing up here.

Hey John, I think we need a nickname for me. I'm feeling all left out

Welcome to the board Mikey and Arby. Best fishing in this area is starting now and heading into the next two months. I think RI has the best Fall run anywhere. Of course , I'm biased but I think its true.

Hey Arby, welcome aboard. How ya feeling? Better, I hope. Will be seeing you in about 7 weeks (unless you get up this way first!)

Just so you all know, Arby will make us jealous, since he lives about 10 steps from the beach. Of course, he has to deal with all the summer crowds in the "resort" town he lives in. I was down his way during prom week this spring, and the place was a zoo, but at least he gets to make up for it come mid September thru May.

Welcome aboard, Mikey......
